My feelings exactly. Once when flying from Europe to SE Asia, the map showed that we would soon be passing quite close to the Himalayas. As I had a window seat on the LHS of the plane, I was quite excited. I had never seen the Himalayas before.
And I still haven't seen the Himalayas!
(Tap, tap, tap) "Excuse me sir, could you please lower your window shade - as people are trying to see their screens."
I wish I had had your gumption! If it happens again . . .
One has got to feel sorry for the sort of person who would rather watch a sordid little TV show or video game - something they probably do every other waking hour of their dreary lives - when a spectacle like the Himalayan mountain range is passing by their airplane window.
