One suggestion (but I'm no expert) If walking hurts check the alignment of your feet. For most of my life I have tended to walk with my feet somewhat turned outwards - my right foot especially. Now, if I'm out walking, and my joints begin to hurt, I try walking with my feet aligned straighter. It often helps.
